Join Us on the Porch

Pull up a chair and rock with us a spell. Here is what has been happening at the Rockin G and B:

Recent thunderstorms finished off the other half of our downed tree (see our last entry).  Luckily it just "rested" on the roof and did not do any damage.  Gerald had to cut most of the limbs off standing on the roof which made me VERY nervous.  Once he got most of the weight off the roof he was able to pull the rest of the tree down with the tractor.

I was not liking this...too close to the edge!

The same storm damaged another large oak on the other side of the house.  Sadly this tree has been dying a slow death.  We have been losing large limbs from this tree over the past year.  Gerald cut it down as much as he could.  He will have to rent a lift to reach the rest of it.

If there is a good side to losing these beautiful trees it is all the oak wood
we have for our future pizza oven!

Buuuunnnnnkkkkkkooooo!
I hosted our end of year Bunko night this past Thursday.  I planned a picnic theme but it rained so I had to move the picnic inside.  We played out on the porch and it turned out to be a lovely evening.
Gerald was a big help as was Harley (in red shirt) our "Bunko Mascot".

These were the favors I handed out at the end of the party.
I made strawberry bread and put strawberry candies in the bags
with a "Have a Berry Nice Summer" tag.
I really enjoy coming up with favors for the ladies.

Our beautiful niece Lizzie and her friends came to
stay with us Saturday and Sunday.
They went to Schlitterbahn Water Park on Saturday and headed
for the Alamo and the San Antonio River Walk on Sunday.
We enjoyed our visit with them.
Lizzie graduated from Belmont University on May 5th,
we are very proud of her!

Lizzie and her Uncle Gerald...they are SO much alike!

The Poly Max Grow Tubes continue to do well.
We picked our first cucumber yesterday.  It was yummy!
Heirloom tomatoes are just around the corner!

Well that is it for now.  Thanks for rockin with us!
